BE A REFUGE WELCOMES YOU
BE A REFUGE
SERVING REFUGEES TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
When I was serving at a refugee camp in Greece, I saw children running around barefoot in the dirt and on the dirt floors of their homes, broken bottles strewn about, receiving no education, and not sure from where their next meal would come. Their parents and the other adults around the junkyard they called home did not know the real meaning of the words "opportunity" and "freedom".
In those moments with refugees, God reminded me to "love my neighbor as yourself". God is our ultimate refuge, our ever present help in good and bad times. He has called me to serve refugees of all nations and help them to sense his peace and love and always directing others to God, that He alone is our permanent refuge.
Our cultures and religions are different but we cannot neglect the respect for another and the life every person longs for. There is a common truth among all nations. We must stop battling one another and find the common respect for each other. This is the love God has for all his children, every one on earth. That's why Be A Refuge exists, to show the love of our heavenly Father.
